At yesterday’s (Wednesday, June 24) meeting of the Public Works Committee, the committee recommended approval of file # 200242- a resolution relating to the application and acceptance of an outdoor recreation grant for Century City Triangle Neighborhood Park, from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Local Assistance Program.
The anticipated $235,000 in funding would support development of the Century City Triangle Neighborhood Park located at 2900 West Hopkins Street through the MKE Plays initiative.
“Having well-maintained parks and play spaces helps support neighborhoods across the city, and this new and improved space will be a valuable community and neighborhood asset for all to enjoy.”
The Century City Triangle Neighborhood Park has already secured grant funding of $350,000 from the Burke Foundation and $165,000 from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.
Through outreach to the Century City Triangle Neighborhood Association, community members have shared their desires for what features they would like included in a new park.
