THE North Zone Secondary Schools Volleyball League’s 2022-2023 ended with a closing ceremony recently at St Joseph’s Convent, Port of Spain.
Some 100 students from the eight North Zone schools namely: Diego Martin Secondary, Holy Name Convent Port of Spain, International School of Port of Spain, Maple Leaf, Providence Girls Secondary School, St Joseph’s Convent, Port of Spain and Woodbrook Secondary, were recognised for their stellar achievements on the court in various categories.

The North Zone took the opportunity to recognise and celebrate their players in the following categories with medals and certificates: Most valuable player, most dedicated player and most improved player. President of the North Zone Winston Samuel and executive committee member Yasmin Khan-Lee Wen addressed the athletes, teachers, coaches and parents who were present at the event.
Everyone expressed thanks to the zone for taking the initiative in this way to bring closure to the 2022-2023 season.
Volleyball continues to be a growing sport locally and the north zone athletes are very excited to improve their game.
The North zone hopes that more suitable courts will be made available in the Port of Spain to facilitate the leagues games in the future.
