Designer Saleem Samuel presented a collection of his work at the opening of the Belmont Community Centre.
Samuel who has been very active in the community has also been promoting the Miss Belmont pageant over the years.

“As a son of the Belmont community, I have always been ready and willing to participate and/or contribute to any event that improves or uplifts the image of the community.
One that is rich in culture, sports and beauty, all marinated together sums up Belmont, “ Samuel said in a media release.
The release said Samuel has co-ordinated the Miss Belmont pageant with a focus on enhancing the personality and image of young women in the community, transforming them into international professional women.

The pageant also provided the opportunity for automatic selection of the winner to the Trinidad and Tobago Miss Universe and MissWorld Pageants.
The collection featured was mainly black and transcended from elegantly simple and short to long and formal pieces, the release said.
