NATIONAL League and T20 Festival champions Central Sports will bowl off their 2024 cricket camp on July 7 with a star-studded line-up of former and current Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies players conducting coaching sessions for boys and girls five to 17 years old.
The camp will take place every Sunday between 9 am and noon until August 25 at the club’s home at Invaders Ground, Maha Sabha Street in Felicity.
Among the Central Sports stars listed to impart their knowledge and experience on the youngsters are Rayad Emrit, Imran Khan and Kjorn Ottley who all played for the TT Red Force team.
They will be joined by Lendl Simmons, who led Central Sports to the National League and the Trinidad T20 Festival crowns in the recently concluded 2024 cricket season.
The top club led by Richard Ramkissoon, president and owner, also reached the final of the Sunday League 50-Over competition and are almost certain to be adjudged Club pf the Year.
As in the previous two seasons of the cricket camp, additional men's and women's coaches are being rostered to ensure all age groups are catered for.
The initiative was piloted by Ramkissoon and Chaguanas West MP Dinesh Rambally, following the covid19 lockdown of 2021 and 2022.

According to Rambally, it was designed to restore normalcy to the young boys and girls who are robbed of the opportunity to engage in team sports and who embraced the opportunity to get back outdoors with their peers playing their favourite sport.
Rambally and Ramkissoon were encouraged by the response of parents to the cricket camp and the benefit to the young participants, both boys and girls, over the school holidays.
“Parents can be assured that their children will be afforded top-class coaching and personal attention as evidenced by the staff of great cricketers lined up in a safe and secure environment. For the past two years we have only had encouraging feedback for this exciting community project,” said Rambally.
