A prison officer from Gasparillo was injured in a road traffic accident at Marabella on June 29.
The officer, identified as Ricardo Murren of Harmony Hall, Gasparillo is being treated at the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH).
A police report stated that around 5.30 am, the driver of a Toyota Corolla was driving along Union Road, Marabella when Murren, a pedestrian, allegedly ran across the road, in front of his vehicle.
The vehicle came into contact with Murren who was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained.
The vehicle was also damaged.
PC Huggins and a party of officers visited the scene and attempted to access CCTV footage, but were unsuccessful in this regard.
Attempt to interview Murren also proved futile as he was being treated.
Police have applied for his medical records.
WPC Mark is continuing enquiries.
