The Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder (MSR) will host “Call To Action: Police & Protests” Virtual Town Hall on June 10 at 2 pm CST.
Wednesday’s conversation will feature voices from the community and government to discuss the state of Black Minnesota in the midst of civil unrest and demands for systemic overhaul following the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police.
Featured speakers include Nekima Levy Armstrong, Racial Justice Network; Jaylani Hussein, CAIR-MN; Andrea Jenkins, Minneapolis City Council; Miski Noor, Black Visions Collective; Leslie Redmond, NAACP; and Mel Reeves, MSR, are confirmed to join the first conversation.
“In this time of unrest, people of all colors are tired of the mistreatment and loss of lives that have been taken at the hands of police officers across the county,” said Tracey Williams-Dillard, MSR publisher.
The town hall will focus on their work, recommendations, and calls to action to end police violence, along with next steps for the community.
