THE EDITOR: Once again we have seen the nobility of the Westminster system.
Mere hours after having lost a general election, Rishi Sunak resigned as leader of the Conservative Party.
Sunak accepted responsibility for the defeat and apologised to all those who suffered loss under his leadership.
He has made way for new leadership to take the party forward although he is at a relatively young age.
Sunak did not blame the elections commission for his loss, he did not blame the Labour Party, nor did he blame his own members for being traitors and dissidents.
Sunak accepted his loss and acted in the finest tradition of First World politics.
Compare this action with that of Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
