THE EDITOR: The Cricket West Indies president says, "CWI cannot go into a country and dictate year-round how the facilities are kept."
The vice-president says it is OK for Nicholas Pooran, who has a CWI retainer contract, to be unavailable for the WI, but he is playing in franchise cricket in the US.
And despite Jason Holder being tired in the South Africa series, he was playing within one week in the Indian League. He too has a CWI retainer contract and is now unavailable.
The chief selector says there is no need to play more low-intensity matches in the regional tournament.
Therein lies the problem with WI cricket.
