A recent study by from the University of Chicago has found police in America’s biggest cities are failing to meet even the most basic international human rights standards governing the use of lethal force.
Among the recommendations included in the report is for federal legislation to include a legal mandate for the Department of Justice to collect, store, analyze and make public, data on police actions from the 50 US states and territories; and the elimination of qualified immunity.
