By: BNC Digital Staff At approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 24, 2021, a residential condo at 8777 Collins Avenue in Surfside, Florida, partially collapsed as residents slept. According to CNN, the oceanfront building contained 136 units and was built in 1981. At the time of the collapse, the building was undergoing construction on its roof, but it remains unclear if that was a factor in the collapse.
