Police Commissioner, Milton Desir, has announced an adjustment to have 'all political activities' end at 9.00 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, 2021 - the day before Saint Lucians go to the polls. In a release on Friday addressed to all political parties and independent candidates, Desir wrote that the adjustment would give police officers sufficient time to rest and perform election duties on Monday. A senior law enforcement official explained that some officers would be required to report for duty connected to the general elections from about 4.00 a.m. on Monday and work throughout the night and likely into Tuesday.
