The Fort Beaufort police station in the Amathole District in the Eastern Cape has been closed after one of its officers tested positive for Covid-19.
According to national police spokesperson Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo, the community service centre would operate from the police barracks at the SANDF base at 3 Grey Street, near the Fort Beaufort Primary School.
The usual police contact details were not working, but the station could be reached on 071 475 1760.
The building was undergoing decontamination and the community would be informed when the station was operational again.
Earlier this week, three police stations in the Eastern Cape were temporarily closed after it was discovered that some of their officers had tested positive for Covid-19.
