By MARK LONG AP Sports Writer GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida coach Dan Mullen showed up after his team's testy victory against Missouri dressed as Darth Vader. Mullen insisted it was the only Halloween costume in the facility, not a conscious decision to play a villain. Nonetheless, it may have been the perfect role given Mullen's past few weeks. Kadarius Toney scored three times, Kyle Trask became the first player in school history with four touchdown passes in four consecutive games and the 10th-ranked Gators returned from a three-week layoff to handle Missouri 41-17 on Saturday night in the Swamp. Gale Sayers was born on May 30, 1943, in Kansas to a family whose only bread winner was an auto mechanic. In 1951, Sayers and his family moved to Omaha where he grew up to an athletic child and showed natural ability in a number of sports, especially American football.
Playing middle linebacker for Omaha’s Central High School’s varsity team, Sayers became a part of the All-Mid-western and All-American high school teams in his senior year. Sayers also stood out in track and field and set a state record of long jump. However, football continued to be his first preference and he returned to Kansas.
Joining the University of Kansas, Gale Sayers performed poorly in his academics but continued to shine on the field. Rushing for 1,125 yards in his sophomore year with an average of 7.2 yards per carry, followed by 941 and 678 yards in his junior and senior years respectively, Sayers earned himself the All-American honours in two consecutive seasons. For his magnificent performance and contribution to the game, Sayers was given the nick name of the ‘Kansas Comet’.
Focusing entirely on his career as a football player, Sayer failed his Bachelor’s degree and juggled between offers from NFL and the American Football League. Choosing the Chicago Bears over the Kansas City Chiefs, Sayers became a part of Pro Football and played running back for the team.
Kicking off his debut with a total of 867 yards and 22 touchdowns during his rookie season, Sayers earned himself NFL’s scoring title for the year along with the honor of Rookie of the Year. Scoring 6 touchdowns, 316 yards and 36 points, Sayers single-handedly won the game for the Chicago Bears against San Francisco in 1965, earning himself a trip to the Pro Bowl.
To prove his consistency after the rookie season, Sayers returned to the league in 1966 with a total score of 1,231 yards and an average of 5.4 yards. Hence, he was selected to play in the Pro Bowl once again. The following year, he managed to earn All-Pro honours for a second time with a score of 880 yards.

Walter Payton was an American footballer who played for the Chicago Bears. He was born in Columbia, Mississippi on July 25, 1953 to Peter and Alyne Payton. He had two siblings and was a member of the Boy Scouts, Little League, and the local church. He also played in the marching band at his high school, and participated in the track team as well as the school choir. He wanted to play football in high school, but because his brother Eddie was also on the team, he refrained from playing in order to avoid competing with his brother. After his brother graduated, Payton’s coach asked him to try out for the team and he did so but only on the condition that he be allowed to continue with the band. Once Payton got selected to the team, he was an immediate success. Despite the disadvantage of his relatively small build of 5 ft 10 in, Payton’s speed and strength made him an asset to the team.
The year that Payton started playing, his high school was integrated with a neighboring high school, and their head coach was made the assistant coach at the new school. To protest this decision, Payton and some of his teammates boycotted some matches the following season, but returned to play in the fall. He went on to earn state-wide honors as a member of Mississippi’s all-state team and led his school to a victorious season. Following in his older brother Eddie’s footsteps, he enrolled at Jackson State University, where they both played football. This was a team laden with future football stars such as Jerome Barkum, Robert Brazile, and Jackie Slater.
In 1973, Walter Payton was selected for the All-American Team and was named “Black College Player of the Year” the next year. He was a popular member of the team which earned him the nickname “Sweetness”. He graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. He has since been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. His professional career lasted from 1975 till 1987. He made his career with the Chicago Bears, who drafted him in the first round of the 1975 NFL
Named Lawrence Julius Taylor at the time of his birth in 1955 in Williamsburg, Virginia, Taylor was late in joining football as compared to the others in his field. Since he did not start playing until his junior year at Lafayette High School, Taylor was not highly recruited and so ended up at the University of Carolina.
However, his speed combined with a height of 6’4” and weight of 240 pounds, soon turned him into a force to be reckoned with and a threat to the opposing quarterbacks. In 1981, the athlete’s hard work eventually paid off and he was picked at draft by the New York Giants.
Joining professional football as a linebacker, Lawrence Taylor excelled quickly, collecting nine sacks in his rookie year which was to be followed by nine more Pro Bowl seasons. 1981 also saw the footballer become the first rookie to win the league’s Defensive Player of the Year title. Taylor was to win this honour twice more in the years 1982 and 1986.
1986 also proved to be Taylor’s best season as he finished with 20.5 sacks and 105 tackles, making him the first defensive player in 15 years to be named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player. In 1995, the player was named to the NFL’s Anniversary All-Time Team.
Living up to his image of a strong player, Taylor never let his injuries slow him down. Suffering from a concussion and still willing to go on, Taylor played through another game with torn shoulder ligaments and a detached pectoral muscle. However, on-field problems were not the only ones Taylor had to deal with and his career suffered when the athlete failed the NFL drug test and had to be suspended for a month.
After his retirement in 1993, Taylor was arrested for buying crack in South Carolina. Even though he managed to get rid of drugs, the former football player was once again arrested in 2010 in charge of a third-degree rape of a teenage girl.
Even though he did not serve as a perfect role model for the football players of the coming generations, the former athlete was a force to be reckoned with during his time on the

Orenthal James Simpson better known as O. J. Simpson was born on July 9, 1947. He was an American football player and is now incarcerated for numerous felonies. Also known as “The Juice”, Simpson briefly acted in a couple of films and was a football broadcaster as well. One of his accomplishments which got him famous was the fact that he was the first to rush more than 2000 yards as a football player. He set this benchmark back in 1973 and he was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985. A major record he set was that of 143.1 yards per game, something to be extremely proud of.
However, a decade later, his life turned around completely. In 1994, he was caught in a spiral that lasted for a long time. His ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman were found murdered in June of 1994. O. J. Simpson was the prime suspect but was subsequently acquitted of double homicide and all associated criminal charges after a lengthy and publicly followed trial. During this time, he spent his days with Denice Shakarian Halicki and Robert Kardashian in the Kardashian household and spectators saw Robert with a garment bag that supposedly had evidence linking Simpson to the crime. After prosecutors finished examination of the evidence (allegedly his bloody clothes and the murder weapon) in 1997, the findings of a civil court revealed him as liable for the wrongful death Ronald Goldman and the stabbing of Nicole Brown Simpson. O. J. Simpson was then ordered to pay Goldman’s father $33.5 million in damages. What followed was a lengthy and time consuming process of lawsuits filed against him by Goldman’s father to obtain right of property and negative publicity for the retired celebrity. In 2007, he was arrested by the Nevada police and charged with kidnapping, armed robbery and other felonies. He was then found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment for 33 years. He currently serves his sentence in Lovelock, Nevada.
His career before these unfortunate instances was quite eventful. He was awarded a scholarship
Sudan has decided to normalize its relations with Israel under US mediation,
The normalization of relations between the 2 countries was announced Friday by the White House in Washington.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described this a \"tremendous turnaround,\"
\"What a tremendous turnaround! Today Khartoum says yes to peace with Israel, yes to the recognition of Israel and normalization with Israel,\" Netanyahu said in a statement in Hebrew transmitted.
Sudan thus becomes the third Arab country to announce since August the normalization of its relations with Israel, after the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, welcomed Mr. Netanyahu who had met earlier this year with Sudanese General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan in Uganda.
The normalization with Sudan is particularly symbolic. After the Six-Day War, which in 1967 saw Israel seize the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza, most Arab leaders met in Sudan to adopt the Khartoum Resolution known for its \"three no's\": no peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with the Jewish state.

LeBron James is an American basketball superstar who currently plays for the National Basketball Association (NBA) team “Cleveland Cavaliers”. He is six feet, eight inches tall and weighs 250 pounds. He was born to a 16 year old single mother named Gloria Marie James on December 30, 1984 in Ohio. Gloria sent LeBron to live with the family of a local football coach so he could grow up in a more suitable environment. It was here that LeBron was introduced to basketball at the age of 9. He attended St. Vincent–St. Mary High School where he played basketball for his school team. In his freshman year, his team won the division state title. He had already begun to gain a reputation as an outstanding player, and NBA scouts regularly attended his games to analyze his talent as a future star.
LeBron continued to impress fans and during his sophomore, junior and senior years, he was given the title of “Ohio’s Mr. Basketball” and was also selected to the “USA Today All-USA First Team”. This was no mean accomplishment as he was the first player to achieve both feats at his age and the only one to have won them for three consecutive years. During his junior and senior years, he won the Gatorade National Player of the Year Award, being the first high school player to have done so and to have won it for two consecutive years. He also appeared on the covers of SLAM magazine and Sports Illustrated, again unprecedented by anyone his age. After his team’s loss in the division championships, he petitioned the NBA to let him join them despite the fact that he hadn’t graduated high school, which is a requirement to be drafted. His petition was rejected and LeBron returned to his senior year of high school being the most talked about high school basketball player and the centre of enormous amounts of media attention. During this time, he began to use marijuana as a means of stress relief.
He was recruited by the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2003-04 season, where he set many records in his first year. This included being the youngest
