Rawle Andrews Jr. is a regional vice president of AARP, the largest non-profit, non-partisan organization advocating for the rights and interests of persons 50 and older in the United States.

Mr. Andrews also is a member of the AARP National Leadership Team with duties including management and oversight of AARP’s operations across the 7 largest states in the USA: California, Florida, Illinois, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas.

Mr. Andrews was in the private practice of law for 16 years before joining AARP.

He also is active on several boards, commissions and task forces, including: the American Bar Association Commission on Law and Aging; the DC Superior Court Civil Rules Committee; the Foundation of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia; the Holy Cross Health Foundation of Maryland; the Thurgood Marshall Center Trust; and the Laurel Wreath Commission and the National Public Policy Committee of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Mr. Andrews is an active member of the District of Columbia Bar; the American Bar Association; the National Bar Association; the Washington Bar Association; the Bar Association of the District of Columbia (voluntary bar); the U.S. Senate Youth Alumni Association; and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

His awards and recognition include, among others, the 2016 Decatur W. Trotter National Humanitarian Award by the National Association of Black Veterans (NABVETS); the 2015 Pillar of the Province Award by the Eastern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; the Leadership Maryland Class of 2011; and the D.C. Bar’s 2006 Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year Award.
