The Trinidad and Tobago women’s U19 team need a win over Guyana, and favourable results from the other two Cricket West Indies (CWI) Rising Stars Championship final round matches on Thursday, to advance to this weekend’s final at Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground in St Augustine.
Inclement weather has been TT’s detriment this season since rain forced their opening match against Barbados and their last meeting with Leeward Islands, on Tuesday, to be abandoned. They won their other two matches against Windwards and Jamaica.
Windward Islands and Guyana however, have three wins, but if either of them lose on Thursday, and TT win, TT could seal a spot in Saturday’s final.
Only the top two teams after the five-round preliminary stage qualify for the final.
The other two matches see Jamaica face off against Windwards at the National Cricket Centre (NCC) in Couva while Leewards meet Barbados at Gilbert Park in California.
On Saturday, the fifth place playoff bowls off at Gilbert Park, third place match at NCC and the final in St Augustine.
