Trinidad and Tobago finished in eighth place at the Davis Cup Americas Group IV tournament, which concluded at the National Racquet Centre in Tacarigua on July 27.
In the seventh-place playoff against Haiti, TT lost 2-1 after the local team of Tim Pasea and Kamran Macintosh-Ross was unable to complete the final doubles match.
Mcintosh-Ross won the opening singles tie 6-4, 6-4 against Luckens Dorcely but Luca Shamsi went down in the second 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 against Christopher Bogelin in the second singles match.
With the doubles match set to decide the eventual outcome, TT forfeited the match, which handed Haiti a 2-1 triumph.
Meanwhile, in the promotional playoff matches, both Aruba and Honduras won their matches and will be elevated to Group III of the Americas.
Aruba defeated Nicaragua 2-0 and Honduras beat Cuba 2-1. The tourney concluded on July 27.
