Marvin Broadwater Sr. is known in the community for mentoring young Black men. As a member of the Lambda Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Broadwater serves as the chairman of The Omega Lamplighters whose primary goal is to mentor young men considered at-risk into becoming productive citizens in their community by teaching the principles of Leadership, Academics, Maturity, and Perseverance with a keen emphasis on academic excellence, community service, and personal growth. The overall goal is to reduce inappropriate behavior in these young men lives and instill in them a keen desire to lead the generation that follows them. The youth learn pertinent leadership skills by planning, implementing and executing events. Students are challenged both personally and professionally.
