Shelly-Ann Mohammed, head of ACCA South America and Caribbean, has been selected for membership of Chief - a New York-based group that unites more than 14,000 female leaders from around the world and whose mission is to change the face of leadership in business.
It includes executives from influential organisations including Amazon, NBC, NASA, Netflix, Nike and many others.
Trinidad-born Mohammed aims to leverage the opportunity to open doors for more women in business across the region.
A release from ACCA Caribbean said Mohammed "is a firm believer in Nelson Mandela's quote, 'Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,' and has consistently used her skills to create social impact through education, in previous efforts, working with in partnership with global law firms, John Hopkins, Harvard Medical School, Kaufmann Foundation and many others."
'I am an avid believer in the power of community and Chief's private network of the most powerful women executives will magnify our influence to create greater impact.
"Women are integral to the region's growth and play an essential role in building a Caribbean and South America that is resilient and realises its growth potential. It will be a critical resource in paving the way for me to help other women leaders from the Caribbean and Latin America.' Mohammed said.
