THE EDITOR: This is an open letter to the mayor of Diego Martin.
For several years the residents of Petit Valley and other users of Morne Coco Road have had to endure driving through what I call the Petit Valley swimming pool.
There is an area north of the Crystal Stream junction, just before Chateau Village, that floods when it rains or a pipe ruptures and maybe even if someone cries a little too much.
The reason for this may have stemmed from a starch mango tree that grew on the eastern side of the road and dropped a ton of mangoes onto the roadway that somehow ended up in the drain, thereby clogging it. That tree has been cut down and disposed of. Or there may have been some other reason.
The fact is regardless of the reason, no serious attempt has been made to solve this problem.
I suggest you have someone get a cadastral for the area and follow the natural or man-made directional flow of water and put an end to this nuisance.
