In mid-November, scores of people were killed as security forces attempted to quell protests against the arrest and detention of Bobi Wine.

In an interview with one of the dailies in Uganda, Amuriat said his feet hurt a lot and has to pour cold water on them in between campaign stops for some relief.
Doctors have cautioned him on the potential danger of contracting tetanus from cuts to his feet.

And to call these protests violent outbursts of fearful people is to undermine the amount of time such events as George Floyd has been manifest.

The shooting of Walter Scott occurred on April 4, 2015, in North Charleston, South Carolina, following a daytime traffic stop for a non-functioning brake light. Scott, an unarmed black man, was fatally shot by Michael Slager, a white North Charleston police officer. The race difference led many to believe that the shooting was racially motivated, generating a widespread controversy.[1] Slager was charged with murder after a video surfaced which showed him shooting Scott from behind while Scott was fleeing, and which contradicted his police report.
The case was independently investigated by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina, and the Justice Departments Civil Rights Division are conducting their own investigations.
In June 2015, a South Carolina grand jury indicted Slager on a charge of murder. He was released on bond in January 2016. In late 2016, a five-week trial ended in a mistrial due to a hung jury.
In May 2016, Slager was indicted on federal charges including violation of Scotts civil rights and obstruction of justice.
On May 2, 2017, in a plea agreement, Slager pled guilty to federal charges of civil rights violations.[2] [3] In return for his guilty plea, murder charges from the state will be dropped.[2] [3] The guilty plea carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.[4]
Walter Lamar Scott[note 1] (February 9, 1965 – April 4, 2015),[6] a 50-year-old black man, was a forklift operator, studying massage therapy.[7] [8] [9] Scott previously served two years in the U.S. Coast Guard before being given a general discharge in 1986 for a drug-related incident.[10]
Michael Thomas Slager (born November 14, 1981),[11] 33 years old at the time of the incident, served in the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) for five years and five months prior to the shooting. Before becoming a police officer, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard.[12]

ARMED soldiers and police officers on Thursday night assisted the Thokozani Khupe led MDC-T in taking over the party headquarters, the Morgan Richard Tsvangirai House, also known as Harvest House, as the battle for the control of the opposition party rages.
MDC-T secretary general Douglas Mwonzora confirmed the takeover in a memo, adding that all party business will from now be run from the party headquarters.
“The party wishes to advise that following the communication sent by the acting president Dr T Khupe to Advocate Nelson Chamisa, the latter has today through party officials allowed for a peaceful takeover of control of the Morgan Tsvangirai house,” the memo read in part.
“At approximately 10pm on June 4, 2020, a truckload of armed soldiers and police officers assisted 20 youths to forcibly gain entry into the MDC Alliance Headquarters, Harvest House,” Mahere said.

S. Lee Merritt, an attorney for the family of Ahmaud Arbery, told CNN on Monday that the US Department of Justice is investigating the shooting death as a hate crime.

PEAR TREE RIVER, St Thomas — The burnt remains of the three bodies were found at Beach Road, Point Morant, in St Thomas, on Saturday have been identified as that of a female Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) soldier Lexton Clayton, 21; her child, Tyler Taylor, 2; and the child's father, Kimani Taylor, 28.
The police report that Taylor, a security guard with the Portland Municipal Corporation, on Saturday morning rented a Nissan Latio motor car for two days.
The owner of the car indicated that he received a call from Taylor early afternoon the same day advising him that he was in St Thomas and had developed difficulty.
The owner of the vehicle advised that these items had not been in the vehicle when it was handed over to Taylor under a two-day rental arrangement.
Reports from the police are that after collecting the rental Taylor, who is from Cornwall Barracks in Portland, picked up his son.
Initially, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio empathized with and defended the police.
“The folks who were converging on that police car did the wrong thing to begin with and they created an untenable situation.
I wish the officers would have found a different approach, but let’s begin at the beginning, the protesters in that video did the wrong thing to surround that police car.
“There is no situation where a police vehicle should drive into a crowd of New Yorkers.
We’ve had Molotov cocktails thrown at police cars while the police officers are in it.”
A Blueberry Hill driver was hospitalised at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) following an accident at Moblissa, Linden Highway, which occurred in the early hours of March 9th after she lost control of the car she was driving.
