Dear Editor,
Of all the many things said in its Editorial ‘Independence Anniversary’ (SN May 26), about the opposition’s boycott of this year’s observances in its stronghold, the sentence that stands out was: “It was the PNC which was in office in 1966, and yet despite that fact it did not prevent Cheddi Jagan from going to the National Park.”
