A 24-year-old man is dead and another wounded after a shooting in Carenage on July 20.
The dead man has been identified as Arthur Amos, of Big Yard, Carenage.
A police report said at 11.45 pm on July 20, the two men were standing near a staircase at the front of Amos’ home at Lp 3-15, Big Yard, Carenage, when gunshots rang out.
Residents checked the area and found Amos dead on the staircase, and a 35-year-old man of L’Anse Mitan, Carenage, lying on the staircase as well, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Residents took the survivor to the St James Medical Facility where he was checked by doctors and transferred to another hospital for further treatment, while Amos was pronounced dead by a district medical officer.
Crime scene investigators processing the scene of the shooting collected nine 7.62 mm spent shell casings, 11 9 mm spent shell casings and four projectiles.
