Las Vegas Raiders star running back Josh Jacobs called out New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees following Brees’ controversial comments about players taking a knee during the national anthem in protest against police brutality.
“I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country,” Brees said, per Yahoo!
So every time I stand with my hand over my heart looking at that flag and singing the national anthem, that’s what I think about.
As many across the country protest the death of George Floyd while in police custody, multiple NFL teams and players have made their feelings on the situation clear.
Former NFL player Colin Kaepernick’s name is also back in the news for his national anthem protests in 2016, which were meant to bring attention to police brutality.
