[This Day] President Bola Tinubu, yesterday, took the oath of office in Abuja as Nigeria's 16th president, and immediately swung into action, announcing, in his inaugural speech, an end to the country's controversial petrol subsidy. The subsidy had over the years been an albatross that hindered the economy by stripping it of badly needed development funds.
