A LEFT-HAND batter and bowler, Carena Noel is not one of the familiar faces on the Trinbago Knight Riders women's (TKR) squad but will be eager to rub shoulders with quality women's cricketers in the 2023 Massy Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL). This will be her debut WCPL, which bowls on August 31.
Grenadian Noel, 29, represented Windwards Islands women in both the Cricket West Indies Women's 50-over and T20 competitions this year. Grenada has not produced many West Indies women's cricketers, but leg spinner Afy Fletcher has been a regular member of the regional women's team and can serve as motivation for Noel to improve her game and earn selection.

Noel may find it difficult to get into the starting XI with the experience and talent on TKR like off spinner Anisa Mohammed, batters Mignon du Preez and Britney Cooper, bowler Shamilia Connell and captain Deandra Dottin.
One of the reasons the WCPL was created is to give young players a chance to shine and develop their ability and this can be Noel's opportunity, along with the other inexperienced players in the tournament.
