She would later found, Wood Habitat, a "Made in Rwanda" furniture design studio and showroom that creates quality custom-made furniture designs such as doors, furniture and home furnishings.
She went to public primary schools, performed well and managed to get a government scholarship at G S O Butare, one of the best public high schools in Rwanda at the time.
This made her handy and informed her design aesthetic, which is evident in her furniture designs.
It was while she was working for the EU that she fell pregnant with her child Liam, which led into her foray into the world of furniture design.
