Journey to Juneteenth: Protecting Leon County’s African American Schoolhouses

At least 52 schoolhouses were built in Leon County during this time, but today only four remain. One of them, the Raney schoolhouse, is now set to receive a much-awaited renovation and is also the only one still standing in its original location.
