TRINIDAD and Tobago's Jereem Richards will compete in his first outdoor men's 400 metres race at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, USA on Saturday from 5pm.
Richards lines up in lane seven and goes for gold alongside the likes of 2012 Olympic champion Kirani James (Grenada) and American quarter-milers Michael Cherry and Michael Norman, who both won 4x400m relay gold with the US men's national team at the Tokyo Games last year.
Norman was also victorious in the 400m at a 2019leg of the Diamond League.
In early May, he won the men's 200m silver at the last leg of the Diamond League in Doha, Qatar.
For the year thus far, TT's Richards has won two gold medals in the indoor 400m.
He also had two gold, a silver and bronze finish on the 200m outdoor circuit.
