THE Trinidad and Tobago junior tennis players had a rough start when the Billie Jean King Cup Americas Group III tournament served off at the National Racquet Centre, Tacarigua on August 5.
Jamaica defeated TT in Group A in two singles matches and one doubles contest.
In the first singles match, TT's Jordane Dookie made a positive start jumping out to a lead with a 6-4 win in the first set against Adeola Greatorex.
Greatorex showed resilience to win the next two sets 7-5, 6-3.
Najah Dawson maintained the winning form for the Jamaicans with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Yolande Leacock.
In the doubles match, Dawson and Greatorex got past Aalisha Alexis and Charlotte Ready 6-4, 6-1. The Bahamas, Barbados and Antigua and Barbuda will also play in Group A. The teams featuring in Group B are Costa Rica, Aruba, Bermuda, St Lucia and El Salvador.
