Trinidad and Tobago escaped monster category 4 storm Hurricane Beryl which battered Barbados, Carriacou and other islands in the Windwards on July 1.

Despite this, TT still experienced heavy showers and strong winds from the night of June 30 and into the early-morning hours of July 1.

Newsday photographers were out and about during the course of the day and brought back these images.
