California Senator Kamala Harris got a lot of love on Tuesday when she was announced the vice president nominee for Joe Biden . Many of Harris' competitors for the position sent in their well wishes after Biden made his choice. For months, speculation has raged about who Biden would choose. Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams , Congresswoman Karen Bass , Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms , Congresswoman Val Demings, former U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice and Senator Elizabeth Warren had their names mentioned for the position after Biden announced that his running mate would be a woman. They have each dealt with a tidal wave of misogyny and racism from the media, Republican opponents and members of Biden's own search committee. But on Tuesday, Abrams, Bass and Rice came together to congratulate Harris.
