Fashion of our forefathers - Trinidad and Tobago Newsday

STREETS and workplaces alike transformed into a runway on July 31 as people across the nation dressed in stunning traditional wear ahead of African Emancipation Day.

Newsday photographers were on the scene to capture these images at Republic Bank, Park Street; President’s House, St Ann's; the Lidj Yasu Omowale Emancipation Village at the Queen’s Park Savannah and in our very own Newsday office.

Emancipation Day will be celebrated on Wednesday August 1 with a public holiday.
