Back to back state champion Galena Park North Shore high school was defeated by Austin Westlake, who respectively won their state title in another division last season, by a score of 24-21 in the state semifinals. North Shore's senior quarterback and University of Auburn commit De'matrius Davis threw and ran for a touchdown. But Austin Westlake won the game on 4th and goal run by Westlake quarterback Cade Klubnik.
