De Comarmond tops mountain bike series in Chaguaramas - Trinidad and Tobago Newsday

Fresh off his Caribbean Road Championships U23 bronze medal, cyclist Enrique De Comarmond was crowned elite men’s champion of the fifth and final Mountain Bike Challenge series, which concluded at Bamboo Cathedral in Chaguaramas on Sunday.

Comarmond did well to best the five-man field as unattached riders Ryan Chin and Nikolai Ho pedaLled to silver and bronze respectively. Matthew Williams placed fourth while Liam Trepte – TT’s criterium champion – was unable to complete the hilly course.

Williams’ performance, however, was good enough to take top honours in the elite II division.

In the elite women's division, Breakaway’s Maria Gooding rode to gold while her club-mate Simone Tardieu was second.

Justoin Boynes copped the junior men's title while Breakaway’s Justin Lee Loo topped the masters 40-49, followed by runner-up Najwa Hamidullah and third-placed Gordon Neuville.
