On October 8, President Joe Biden proclaimed October 11, 2021 Indigenous Peoples’ Day, the same day the nation would observe Columbus Day.
Biden’s move allowed the federal government to join 14 states, the District of Columbia, and over 130 cities in the observance.
The first seed of Indigenous Peoples’ Day was planted at a U.N.
