President Bola Tinubu has retained his position as the chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Tinubu was reelected on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 during the 65th ordinary session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government which took place at the presidential villa in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Tinubu first emerged as ECOWAS chairman last year at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau.
