Rome — Representatives of Angolan student associations in Italy Monday called for a review or exemption of fees charged by consular services.
The request was made during a video conference debate under the slogan "Education as an instrument of patriotic elevation" on the occasion of Africa Day, where were presented some concerns of students who, in general, face difficulties of various kinds.
The students asked for further support from the Angolan authorities to alleviate their difficulties, aggravated by the covid-19 pandemic, claiming to have gone through humiliating situations in order not to succumb.
During the event, the scholarship holders also expressed the need for the intervention of the embassy for the return to the country of some finalist students, as soon as the borders are opened.
The ambassador assured the students to do everything with the competent authorities, once the main problems have been identified.
