Luanda — The Ministry of Oil, Geology and Mining is announcing Friday in Luanda the winners of the public tender for mining rights.
This is after it evaluated the bids put forward for five mining concessions.
According to a note that reached Angop on Thursday, the Ministry of Oil, Geology and Mining received in December last year 17 bids for mining rights on five diamond, iron and phosphate concessions.
In this tender, the first in the mining sector in Angola, the Cácata phosphate deposit concession, in northern Cabinda province, received the highest number of offers, with seven contesting companies, corresponding to 41,2%, followed by the Camafuca-Camazombo kimberlite, in northeastern Lunda Norte province with four bidders (23,6%).
The five mentioned concessions include three for the Lucunga phosphate deposit, in northern Zaire province, two for diamond, in Tchitembo region (Lunda Norte), and one for the iron deposit of Cassala-Quitundo in northern Cuanza Norte province.
