Allegheny County reported 96 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, its largest single-day increase since the county started reporting the coronavirus case count in March.
Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and Health Department Director Dr. Debra Bogen held a briefing Sunday afternoon about the record-setting weekend of COVID-19 cases and new mitigation measures.
“For the first time since COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the state, Allegheny County led the state in the number of new COVID-19 cases,” Fitzgerald said.
Bogen said the health department is finalizing an order to restrict on-site alcohol consumption at any business.
