South Western and Central Divisions police seized a gun and a quantity of marijuana and arrested six people in exercises between July 31 and August 1.
A police statement on August 2 said South Western Division officers held a warrant exercise between 1 am and 8 am on July 31. Six people between 30 and 68 were arrested on outstanding affiliate and time-allowed commitment (TAC) warrants.
Snr Supt Teewarie, Supt Cumberbatch, ASPs Forbes, Haynes and Corrie and Insp Harripersad co-ordinated the exercise. It included warrant officers from the Point Fortin, Cedros, La Brea and Guapo police stations.
Central Division Task Force (CDTF) officers, in an exercise between 2 pm and 8 pm on August 1, went to Church Street, Couva, and searched an area. They found a quantity of marijuana in a black plastic bag.
They then went to California, where they found and seized a rifle.
Snr Supt Simon, Supt Glodon, ASP Ablacksingh and Insp Sylvan co-ordinated the exercise, which included members of the CDTF Area South and the Canine Unit.
