A group of policemen in Horizon Park near Spanish Town, St Catherine were attacked and two cops were killed and two others injured.

The cops were on an operation in search of wanted men and firearms when they were attacked, police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay reported.

The injured cops including Superintendent Leon Clunis are now in hospital undergoing surgical operations.

Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson and other high-ranking cops, National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang were part of a large contingent of police personnel now on the scene.

Meanwhile, Holness said the government will provide every support to the families and the police high command and will be relentless in bringing those responsible to justice.
