SEVERAL police anti-crime exercises in the Southern Division have resulted in arrests and seizure of ammunition and narcotics.
During one of these exercises, in Ste Madeleine and San Fernando, seven people were arrested. Police said a quantity of ammunition and narcotics were seized.
Four male suspects, 29-61, from San Fernando, South Oropouche, Marabella and Pleasantville, were held.
In an exercise between noon and 6 pm on Wednesday in Ste Madeleine, officers arrested three male suspects, aged 35-49.
The men, from Ste Madeleine, San Fernando, and Princes Town, were arrested for various offences including possession of ammunition, possession of cocaine, inflicting grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning a wound.
Investigations are ongoing into all these matters.
The San Fernando Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Operations and Southern Division Anti-Gang Unit also carried out an 11-hour operation on July 12 from 8 am-7 pm.
During that exercise, investigations continued into several reports of car theft in the division.
