Dr. John B. Hall, Sr., served as the secretary of the South End Medical Society (a group of white physicians) from its beginning in 1926 until 1952. During his career as a prominent South End physician, Dr. Hall held posts as medical examiner for the Massachusetts Insurance Department and with the advisory council of the Massachusetts Public Health Department in the 1930s and ‘40s.
