Savannah Is Part of The 6888 History - The Savannah Tribune

Savannah is historically connected to the 6888 Central Postal Directory Battalion, the only all-female, all African American battalion of the Women’s Army Corp that served in Europe during WWII. Featured in Tyler Perry’s NAACP Image Award-winning film The Six Triple Eight, the 6888 Battalion overcame harsh conditions and bias, completing their mission in half the expected time.
