Louis Armstrong, nicknamed Satchmo or Pops, was an American jazz trumpeter, composer and singer who was one of the pivotal and most influential figures in jazz music.

Awards / Achievements:

  • mstrong was posthumously awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1972 by the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Recordings of Armstrong were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, which is a special Grammy award established in 1973 to honor recordings that are at least 25 years old
