The Ministry of Education is reportedly in discussions with authorities in Virginia, United States about possibly hiring qualified Barbadian teachers to deal with staff shortages in public schools there.According to Fairfax County government documents obtained by all-news radio station and website WTOP News in Virginia, representatives from both sides are scheduled to further discuss the potential partnership later this month.The media outfit reported on Tuesday that in an email to the Fairfax County School Board, Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools Michelle Reid said the partnership being considered “is intended to help the department with a teacher shortage”.The idea was first pitched to Barbados’ education officials last month.
