Dr. James Hildreth is an American immunologist and academic administrator. Dr. Hildreth serves as the 12th president and chief executive officer of Meharry Medical College.
Bloomberg Philanthropies has just given $100 million to the four HBCU medical schools to increase the number of Black doctors in the U.S. by reducing the debt burden of Black medical students. Meharry received the largest portion of the gift -- $34 million -- which is also the largest in the school's history.
