Facebook issued a statement on Friday to apologize to social media users after its artificial intelligence software labeled a group of Black men as “primates,” USA Today reported . The gaffe on the social media platform involved a video from The Daily Mail, which showed Black men in altercations with white civilians and police officers. Facebook users who watched the The Daily Mail video were then asked if they would like to “keep seeing videos about primates.” Although the video was originally shared on Facebook last year, social media users are only now saying that they saw Facebook's prompt recently appearing alongside the old video.
