For over a century, Black farmers have been systemically pushed off their land through discriminatory lending practices, legal loopholes, and government neglect. Even after the historic Pigford settlement, many have yet to see justice. Today, Black farmers make up less than 2% of all U.S. farmers, down from 14% a century ago. In Texas, where agriculture is big business, these farmers are still being shut out. The question remains—why is access to land still a struggle for us?
