WEST INDIES sealed the three-match T20 series 2-0 against Bangladesh with a five-wicket win in the third and final game at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence, Guyana, on Thursday.
After the first match at Windsor Park in Dominica on Saturday was abandoned because of rain, West Indies won the second match on Sunday at the same venue.
West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran led from the front in the third match hitting 74 not out off 39 balls. In chase of 164 to win, Pooran’s innings guided West Indies to 169/5 in 18.2 overs. The left-hander cracked five fours and five sixes.
Opener Kyle Mayers also showed form with 55 off 38 balls, a knock which included two fours and five sixes.
Nasum Ahmed took 2/44 in four overs for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh posted 163/5 in 20 overs with Afif Hossain belting two fours and two sixes in his innings of 50 off 38 deliveries.
Litton Das also helped Bangladesh to the competitive total lashing 49 off 41 balls.
Leg spinner Hayden Walsh was the pick of the bowlers for West Indies taking 2/25 in four overs. Pooran was named as the Man of the Match as well as the Man of the Series.
The teams will switch focus to a three-match One Day International series which starts in Guyana, on Sunday. The match bowls off at 9.30 am.
